Frequently Asked Questions

1) What is your work ?

Our work is based on helping people awaken to deeper levels of happiness and inner peace through receiving transfers of powerful healing and awakening energy called deeksha.

The more transfers one receives the stronger, more effective and permanent will be the changes in one's life. Undergoing a course is the most powerful process of transformation.

This energy has immense, undreamt of potential. It can create healing and produce awakening on every level of the human experience including the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual levels. As people grow and develop through the help of the deeksha, they will feel more peace, silence, joy, happiness, awareness, clarity, understanding and bliss in their lives. Transfers of this energy basically initiate people into a deep process of awakening leading towards their enlightenment - which is ultimately the state free from inner conflict and suffering, a state of deep happiness, peace, oneness and inner freedom.

2) Can anybody receive this energy called deeksha?

Yes, anyone can receive it.   It does not require that you have any particular spiritual background or belief. Nor does it require any special abilities, skills or knowledge. Your openness and desire to receive this healing energy is enough.

3) What kind of experiences can I expect?

Most people have experiences of inner peace, joy, harmony, freedom, clarity, awareness, balance and oneness with life. Generally, each deeksha will help you with a different area of your life. For example, one deeksha may be about cleansing negative emotions from the past, another may reveal hidden aspects of ourselves to increase our self-awareness, and yet another may guide one into newfound experiences of unconditional love and joy.

In some cases, people also have experiences of spiritual awakening, expanded consciousness, universal oneness or deep realizations about oneself, the universe and some even reach God-realization. There are also cases in which some people feel little or nothing. However, generally it takes a series of transfers until one begins to truly feel the effects of this energy. People often have enlightenment experiences and these are meant to lead to a permanent state of enlightenment. While there is no formula for this process, generally speaking, the first few deekshas are aimed towards clearing energy blocks so this new energy can be received, the next few deekshas then begin a process of cleansing and purification. The following deekshas then help to move one into a higher state of being.

4) Does everyone receive the same benefits? What does it depend on?

Each person will receive a unique process. The degree of transformation that happens is different for everyone.   It depends partly on the openness of the receiver, but mostly on the intelligence within the energy that knows what is best for you. For example you may wish for peace of mind but actually what would serve you higher is first an understanding of the way your mind works - then you would receive the second before the first. Or you may wish for more harmony in your life, but first you need harmony and awareness in yourself, so again the higher good will manifest first.

Having a strong background in meditation or some spiritual practice may be very helpful, however sometimes a strong spiritual background comes with fixed concepts which can block one's degree of openness. Many people with virtually no spiritual background have received beautiful states quite easily. For example, in the villages of India and Africa or areas where the people are not highly educated, enlightenment broke out as a major phenomenon with many villagers receiving the state in only one or two deekshas. In saying this, the most important quality on the side of the seeker is sincerity.

5) What happens in your courses?

Our courses are based on supporting and guiding seekers into receiving the highest possible benefit from the deekshas. In order to prepare seekers for these transfers, we use powerful meditations and teachings. Our courses are designed to fit the unique needs of each different group and sometimes include other aspects like yoga, qigong, dancing or other opening and relaxing exercises. We offer ongoing guidance and counsel during a course which happens through a mutual sharing and clarification of experience. We also offer individual sessions to address your unique process or personal questions.

6) What inner qualities are needed for this process?

Undergoing deep transformation needs courage on the part of the seeker. Though the aim is to awaken to our inner resource of love and joy, this cannot happen unless we first take an honest look at ourselves. For everyone, this generally requires some degree of heartbreak.   There needs to be an honest confrontation with our shadow aspects, like selfishness, neediness, jealously, pride, loneliness, emptiness, confusion, boredom, anger etc. Without honesty, there are only the masks we wear to hide these aspects from ourselves and others.

This process of awakening to oneself is not just a matter of intellectual acknowledgement. We all know we get angry or sad once in a while, however this knowledge does not liberate us. True confrontation with our shadows is liberating only when it takes place on the level of our being and heart.   Without this, we cannot embrace the diversity of our inner self, the light and the shadow within us.   When this realization is present, we can then "start from where we are, not from where we want to be".   This begins the path of awakening.

Another important quality is openness. It is good to be open to the possibility that complete awakening is possible for oneself - and to be free from limiting concepts that full awakening is a privilege meant for a few rare and very special individuals or only possible for you in future lives.   Many people with virtually no spiritual background have received the state of oneness quite easily. Finally, the main thing is to simply be in touch with ones inner wish and longing to be whole in oneself.

7) How is this process cleansing and purifying?

Many, but not all, go through a natural period of cleansing on various levels of the body, mind, heart, emotions and energy. Through a series of transfers, one becomes released of the heavy and blocked energies of the past.   Many of these heavy energies we are not even conscious of, but continue to carry. Some of us can feel the effects of them over time, although most of us are unaware of them. It is like a grain of rice that is added to our pack with each passing day. There is barely any difference from one day to another; however over a length of time, the affects become apparent.   The dust of experiences we have accumulated over lifetimes, the vast storehouse of imprints and impressions in our unconscious, the energetic impact and weight of our past can become cleansed, even cleared through deeksha.

8) Could you speak about the potential for transformation and enlightenment through spiritual practice?

Basically, real transformation is when your very nature changes, while reformation is when you decide to think or act differently, however your nature remains the same. Transformation is when your natural feelings, emotions, sensations, and perceptions - actually arise spontaneously in a different way.

Decisions made on the level of the mind do not often reach deep into our being.   Often lasting changes are only possible when something very deep within us shifts and for that, will power is not enough.   That is why Sri Bhagavan urges seekers to see the limitations of relying on techniques and practices based only on self-effort to create change. This is why among the many dedicated meditators, only a few have become enlightened.

When it comes to spiritual awakening, this insight becomes very clear that our will power, efforts and perseverance alone are not enough to affect a deep change. At most, our spiritual practice can bring some shift in our perceptions, behaviors and even consciousness, but that is not enlightenment. Enlightenment happens only when the efforts of the seeker are met by divine grace. So in this sense, the function of spiritual practice is to take us to a point where we can be met by divine grace.

9) How does deeksha actually create change?

Once deeksha is received, a process begins where one becomes gradually awakened. It is actually a biological process in which each transfer helps to awaken certain neuro-pathways and crucial energies related to enlightenment. Other neuro-pathways related to the sense of separation which are considered the primary reason for our suffering, become greatly reduced.

The state of separation is the ordinary state of human consciousness. In this state, the oneness of life is not seen and instead all things, events and people are experienced as separate. Here, such qualities as competitiveness, pride, dominance, the need to control, loneliness, neediness, insecurity, confusion, boredom and feelings of emptiness arise. Each transfer will help a person to move from the sense of separation towards a sense of connectedness and oneness with life. Here, one begins to realize a deep state of happiness that is naturally arising and free from conditions.

10) Is this a religion? Do I have to believe in Sri Amma and Sri Bhagavan?

No, not at all. Sri Bhagavan and Sri Amma acknowledge themselves as divine beings (avatars), however they don't require people to believe in them or follow their teachings. Sri Bhagavan has never said that his path is the only way to enlightenment, and has no interest in telling people what they should do.

Sri Bhagavan and Sri Amma are beyond the confines of institutions and support seekers in their chosen path. Their only mission is to liberate man from suffering by giving him enlightenment.   As highly enlightened and rare beings, they simply have the power to heal and awaken anyone who so desires it. This happens not through any dogma, belief, ritual or practice, but through the transfer of this healing and awakening energy. While Sri Bhagavan does urge seekers to see the limitations inherent in relying on teachings and practices alone in the attainment of enlightenment, he does support seekers in pursuing the spiritual path or religion they have chosen for themselves.
