In
all cultural and spiritual traditions,
becoming enlightened is considered the
highest human attainment. However, despite
the many efforts made by millions of people
for thousands of years, very few individuals
have actually attained this. Why is that?
Perhaps it is because enlightenment is
not something that can simply be achieved,
but rather something that is bestowed
or given.

Sri Bhagavan
has long felt
the suffering of humanity and since
childhood has only focused on how
to liberate humans from their suffering.
What he discovered was that, the only
solution to human suffering was enlightenment.
In his teachings, Sri Bhagavan
tells
us "to start from where we are, not
from where we want to be".
Failing to realize this, we often
follow teachings and practices in
empty pursuit - trying to become something
other than what we are. Sri Bhagavan
teaches to simply be yourself, and
that that it is enough to begin the
path of awakening. Once we recognize
that we have no choice but to be ourselves,
that no matter how hard we try, it
becomes clear that enlightenment is
not in our hands and our efforts alone
will not bring us liberation. By acknowledging
our helplessness in trying "to become
enlightened", we open ourselves to
divine grace. May the teachings
presented in these interviews stimulate
and further your own discovery and
exploration of what it means to be
truly human and awakened.
